INSULATED JUNCTION OF COMPOSITE OVERHEAD GROUND WIRE OF OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To enable only the electrical parting of the conductor part of a composite overhead ground wire of optical fibers without parting optically the same by insulating the ends of the conductor parts thereof to each other and maintaining the continuity in the light passage part. CONSTITUTION:An insulated juncture 5 is provided with metallic connectors at both ends. Both connectors 9 are coupled to one body via a cylindrical insulating connector 10. The conductor part 11 of a composite overhead ground wire of optical fibers (OPGW) 1 is parted and the parted end is united to the connector 9. Light passage parts 12 are exposed from the ends of both conductors 11 and are connected by an optical fiber joint 13 in the connector 10. The OPGWs 1 on both sides of a steel tower 2a are attached by means of anchor clamps 6 and insulators 7 to the steel tower 2a and the juncture 5 is interposed in the OPGWs 1 between both clamps 6. The juncture is suspended and supported to the tower 2a via an insulator 8.
