This adsorption receptacle comprises a cylindrical casing (1) filled with adsorbent particles and in which an annular chicane (11) of approximately frustoconical shape is positioned. The fluid to be treated enters at one end (6) of the casing, in the region (16) outside the chicane, runs along the casing, passes through end openings (15) of the chicane, enters the inner space (17) of the latter and leaves through a central opening (7) situated on the same side as the entry (6). Thus, throughout its treatment, the fluid has at its disposal a flow cross-section which decreases progressively in step with the progress of the adsorption, so that the velocity of the fluid remains substantially constant from the entry to the exit.
