PURPOSE:To reproduce a screen with high resolution by dividing a picture into a dynamic picture part and a still picture part forming the picture to apply correction control to the picture thereby keeping the movement continuity of the picture. CONSTITUTION:Picture memories 1, 2 storing past video signals for one and two fields' share of a reproduced video signal and a line addition processing circuit 4 obtaining a line adding video signal based on the reproduced video signal are provided. A movement detecting circuit 13 uses the storage data in the memories 1, 2 so as to detect the movement of the picture of the reproduced video signal and transmit a movement detection signal corresponding to the movement to a movement correction circuit 11. A weighting circuit 16 of the circuit 11 generates a weight coefficient signal K corresponding to the movement detection signal. The weight by the weight coefficient K of the circuit 16 is added 17 to a line addition video signal A from the circuit 4 and a referenced video signal B from a chroma inverting control circuit 6 to output a video signal VOUT.
