PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality of the entire picture by replacing a horizontal pattern part being a cause to disturbance of a picture caused in vertical direction with a horizontal pattern part of a video signal. CONSTITUTION:A reproduced video signal VIN is applied to a field memory 1, a signal delayed by one field's share is applied sequentially to a luminance/chrominance signal separation circuit 3, where the signal is separated into a luminance signal SY and a chrominance signal SC and they are fed to a line addition processing circuit 4. When the content of field information of the reproduced video signal is not coincident with the reference, the circuit 4 processes the reproduced video signal so as to make them coincident and outputs a line addition video signal A. A signal component corresponding to the horizontal pattern is extracted by a difference signal C between the signal A and the past video image obtained from the memory 1, and a correction signal processing circuit 9 processes a correction signal. The signal A of the circuit 4 is synthesized to an output signal of the circuit 9 so as to output an output video signal VOUT. |
