A conveyor using rollers 12 with sleeves 13 thereon as the conveying surface and driven by a drive unit 18 composed of a drive gear 110 mounted on a drive shaft 90 and driving a number of pinion gears 114 each of which is connected to a roller 12 through a flexible shaft 20. A sprocket wheel 92 is fixed to the drive shaft 90. A number of modules 10 containing rollers 12 and sleeves 13, and a drive unit 18 as just described are mounted together to form a conveyor system.
