PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium characterized by high sensitivity and long life and to obtain a highly reproduced signal by separating a recording film into two layers, forming a spacer layer between the two layers and setting up the thickness of the spacer layer to odd times lambda/4. CONSTITUTION:For instancse, SiO2 is formed on a substrate 1 as a protecting layer 2 by sputtering or the like, a recording film 3-1, a spacer layer 6 and a recording film 3-2 are laminated successively and then a protecting film 4 is formed on the laminated layers to complete the optical recording medium. When the thickness of the spacer layer 6 is set to lambda/4, the interference effect of reproduced light 5-1, 5-2 between the recording films 3-1, 3-2 arranged on both the sides of the spacer layer 6 is maximized and the reproduced signal is extremely increased. Since the thickness of each recording film is thin, several 100Angstrom e.g. loss due to the escape of heat is removed and a highly sensitive recording medium is obtained in an optomagnetic recording. |
