PURPOSE:To enhance the degaussing effect by a method wherein a plurality of degaussing coils are used, and the supply of degaussing current to each coil is controlled in accordance with the magnetic flux density of each section of the container. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of the degaussing coils 12 are provided in the perimeter of the cylindrical magnetic shielding container 11, and a plurality of magnetic sensors 14 are arranged in each section of the container inner wall by corresponding to the above-mentioned coils. The detection signals of the magnetic sensors 14 are inputted to a controlling device 15. This device 15 determines the intensity of degaussing currents to respective degausing coils 12 on the basis of the detection signal of each sensor 14. Since the degaussing in accordance with the magnetic flux density in each section in the container can be accomplished in such a construction, the degaussing effect can be enhanced. |
