A clamp for occluding a blood vessel 60 or for securing a catheter in a blood vessel (Figure 5, not shown) comprises a tubular sheath 20 or 200 onto the rear end of which is pushed an end cap 30 or 300. A flexible cord 51 or 510 is bonded at its rear end to the tubular sheath. In use, the cord 51 or 510 is wrapped around the blood vessel 60 and its forward end is pushed back along the sheath and out of the cap 30, 300. The pushed-out part of the cord is held in position by a plug 40, joined with the cap 30 or 300, which plug is pushed into the cap and against the cord. <IMAGE> |
