PURPOSE:To remove adverse influence which may be generated when pulse PG such as offset is used as a reference by using practically the starting end of reproduced output of a recorded pilot signal at the reproducing time as a reference to detect a pilot signal and generating a sampling pulse. CONSTITUTION:A pilot signal 6 is detected by using practically the starting end of the reproduced output of the pilot 6 already recorded in a track at the reproducing time as a reference and a sampling pulse is generated from a sampling pulse generating circuit 44 itself. A self-clock as a sampling pulse is practically generated from a track pattern. Therefore, the adverse influence which may be generated when a pulse PG43 such as offset is used as a reference is removed. Since a sampling pulse is generated in each scanning period of each head to detect a tracking position, so that the influence due to jitter is removed. |
