PURPOSE:To improve durability, etc. by using a specific isocyanuric deriv. having plural alpha,beta-ethylenic unsatd. carbonyl groups and a specific polymerizable silicon monomer, etc. on the front or both front and rear of a magnetic recording medium having a thin ferromagnetic metallic film layer. CONSTITUTION:The compd. formed by adding a polymn. initiator or UV polymn. initiator to the mixture composed of, for example, the isocyanuric deriv. A such as the tris(polyoxyalkylene ether)iocyanurate di- or triacrylate, etc. expressed by the formula I (R1 is H or CH3, R2 is 1-5C alkyl, R3 is the group expressed by the formula II or the formula III, n is 1-15) and having 500-3,000 average mol.wt. and a silicone monomer or oligomer having a polym. reactive group, for example, gamma-methacryloxypropylmethoxysilane or the reaction product B of the silicone oligomer and acryl monomer is coated on both surfaces of the front of the magnetic layer and the rear of the base thereof and is polymerized by heat or UV rays. The magnetic recording medium having excellent running property, durability, etc. without blocking is thus obtd.
