PURPOSE:To form a toner as a uniform thin layer on the surface of a toner carrying body by using magnetic particles whose surfaces have been brought to smoothing treatment, as toner applying magnetic particles. CONSTITUTION:As for toner magnetic particles, that which have brought magnetic particles whose surface have been bought to smoothing treatment, furthermore to surface treatment by various treating agents in accordance with necessity is used. When a sleeve 3 rotates, a toner applying use magnetic toner is stirred and mixed with toner. The toner in a mixing part 4 is brought to triboelectrification by the sleeve 3, while it is mixed with the toner applying magnetic particles and brought to circulating movement. In case when two carrying members of a magnetic brush, and the toner applying magnetic particles which have executed smoothing treatment of the surface have been combined and used, the circularity of the magnetic brush, especially, the stabilization of the magnetic brush quantity in the longitudinal direction of a toner carrying body is improved remarkably, and a uniform toner thin layer can always be formed on the toner carrying body. |
