A machine for automatically sorting fish eggs, good from bad, by checking the light reflected by an egg on to which light is directed. An optical fibre is used to direct the incident light on to an egg and to convey reflected light to an amplifier. The egg is checked after self-loading from a water tank into an aperture in the edge of a rotary disc. If the reflected light value indicates that an egg is to be sepd., as the disc brings this egg to an ejection station the amplifier actuates an air blast to blow out the egg. |
