PURPOSE:To prevent a front cover from being rotated simply by the careless sliding of a slider by engaging the engaging chip of a lower half of a cassette with the engaging part of the slider to regulate the sliding of the slider. CONSTITUTION:The elastic engaging chip 15 consisting of an inclined plane part 15a, a plate part 15b and a projection part 15c is formed on the lower half 3 of the cassette. On the other hand, the engaging part 9i is formed on the slider 9 correspondingly to a projected part 15c of the engaging chip 15. If the slider 9 is slid backward carelessly at the unused time of the cassette, the engaging part 9i collides against the projection part 15c at a slightly shift position, the sliding of the slider 9 is regulated and the front cover also is not rotated. At the loading of the cassette, the engaging chip 15 is curved upwards by a prescribed releasing pin. Therefore, the front cover is not opened simply even if the slider 9 is rotated carelessly, so that the tape can be protected.
