RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE OF VIDEO SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To reduce errors at the time of editing or dubbing in a PCM system VTR video signal recording and reproducing device using a magnetic tape by controlling a signal path through a switch. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 30 is turned to excute editing or dubbing, constitutional parts such as a source decoder 28 including a PCM decoder for a VTR33 in reproducing status, a source coding part 20 including a PCM encoder for a VTR34 in recording status and an error correction encoder 21 which easily generate uncorrectable errors are skipped. Consequently, the accumulation of errors at the editing or dubbing time is prevented and the errors of the edited or dubbed results can be reduced.
