PURPOSE:To improve resistance to oxidative corrosion and transparency of the titled material by substituting a part of Fe of MeO.n[Fe2O3] (Me=Ba or Sr, 5<=n<=6) with an Mn or In atom. CONSTITUTION:Respectively predetermined amounts of BaCO3 or SrCO3, Fe2O3, MnO2 and In2O3 are mixed and ground. The material thus obtained is placed in a mold having a suitable shape and molded. It is then sintered at the temperature of 1,200-1,400 deg.C so as to obtain a metallic oxide magnetic material with the composition as indicated by the formula, MeO.n[Mnx.InyFe2-(x+y)O3] (in which Me=Ba or Sr, 0<x<=0.7, 0<y<=0.4, 5<=n<=6). The magnetic material thus obtained has a Curie temperature and magnetic retension capacity suitable for a material of optimagnetic recording medium, and further is provided with resistance to oxidative corrosion and with transparency. |
