PURPOSE:To make corrosion prevention possible for a long period and to prevent environmental pollution by inhibitor due to release of cooling water, by utilizing both of inhibitor and electrical method to corrosion prevention of cooling water system circulating in closed circuit of internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:At corrosion prevention of cooling water system using fresh water circulating in said circuit, a specified inhibitor is used together with electric corrosion preventing method. as inhibitor, cooling water incorporated with one kind of nitrites and having 5-8pH and <=1,000OMEGAcm specific resistance is used. In case Mg alloy is used as corrosion preventing anode material used for electric corrosion prevention, boric acid and borax, and dihydrogen phosphate of potassium or sodium are used at 10:1 and 2:1 respectively as pH buffer agent. Al anode material can be used under similar condition. Corrosion prevention of cooling water system is made possible for a long period, and environmental pollution of sea water, etc., due to release of the cooling water is not caused. |
