PURPOSE:To prevent simultaneously the hunting and buckling of a belt-like metallic material by disposing a cylindrical roll near the hearth roll in a high temp. treating zone in the specific relational position in parallel with the hearth roll. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical roll 6 is provided near a hearth roll 1 positioned in the high temp. treating zone is a vertical type continuous annealing furnace in parallel with the hearth roll shaft. If the roll 1 and the roll 6 contact with the different surfaces of a belt-like metallic material 2, the roll 6 is disposed in the position satisfying lV/DH<=3.6, lH/DH<=0.41+0.5DA/DH. Here lV is the distance in the vertical direction between the axial center of the hearth roll and the axial center of the cylindrical roll, lH is the distance in the horizontal distance thereof, DH is the outside diameter of the roll 1 and DA is the outside diameter of the roll 6. If both rolls 1, 6 contact with the same surface of the material 2, the rolls are disposed in the relational positions lV/DH<=3.6, lH/DH>=0.59+0.5DA/ DH. |
