PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which is lightweight and is capable of positioning easily a glass tube at the center of a main shaft by rocking an arm with a supporting claw fixed on one end which can be fitted into the glass tube with a driving means, and controlling the set position of the supporting claw with a leveling means. CONSTITUTION:Said device is provided with plural arms 5 whose middle parts are fixed freely swingably to one end of a main shaft 1 having a central hole 3, a supporting claw 6 on one end of the arm which can be fitted into a glass tube inserted into the central hole 3, an arm driving means 10 to be fitted into the other end of the arm 5 for rocking the arm 5 so that the supporting claw 6 may approach or leave the glass, and a leveling means 20 for controlling the set position of the supporting claw 6 to the arm 5 so that the center line of the glass tube may coincide with the center line of the main shaft 1. When the glass tube is worked, all the supporting claws 6 are detached from the glass tube by rotating a rotary ring 12, and the glass tube is inserted into the central hole of the main shaft 1. Then the glass tube is held with the supporting claws 6 by rotating the rotary ring 12, and the glass tube is worked by driving a glass lathe.
