1,096,688. Stays; window operating mech-anism. W. WEBER. Dec. 16, 1964 [Dec. 18, 1963], No. 51140/64. Headings E2F and E2M. In an arrangement of stays for windows of the type pivotable alternatively about both a horizontal and a vertical axis, a control arm 8 which is operated by a linkage 11 is connected to an actuating arm 3 by a pivot pin 7, and two guide pins 13, 14 which move through two arcuate slots 15a, 16a and keep the free edge of the moving frame 2 parallel to the fixed frame 1. When the window is locked the guide pins 13, 14 are retracted into straight portions of the slots 15b, 16b respectively. The pivot pin 7 may have an extension 7a that engages into a locking plate 17 so that the moving frame 2 can be locked to the fixed frame 1. To provide additional support for the moving frame 2 a supporting arm 18 may be provided which is attached at the fixed frame 1 so as to pivot about the vertical pivoting axis of the moving frame 2. For wide windows an extra control arm. (20), (Fig. 4 not shown) and actuating arm (19) may be used. |
