发明名称 METHOD FOR REMOVING MERCURY FROM CONCENTRATED SULFURIC ACID
摘要 PURPOSE:To remove simply and surely mercury from concd. sulfuric acid by using a synthetic polymer adsorbent having physical properties such as a fixed grain size or below and a fixed specific surface area or above and contg. thiol groups as chelate forming groups. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic polymer adsorbent having physical properties such as <=about 0.25mm. average grain size, >=2m<2>/g specific surface area, 200-200,000 Angstrom pore diameter and >=0.1ml/g pore volume and contg. thiol groups as chelate forming groups is added to concd. sulfuric acid having >=about 90% concn. by about 0.05-20g/kg, preferably about 0.05-2.0g/kg. The concd. sulfuric acid is heated to a prescribed temp., preferably about 40-60 deg.C, stirred for a prescribed time, preferably about 30min-2hr, and filtered by means of a glass filter precoated with diatomaceous earth to remove mercury from the concd. sulfuric acid at a high rate of removal. The synthetic polymer adsorbent is obtd. by introducing thiol groups into a base resin such as a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer by treatment with KSH or other method.
