PURPOSE:To prevent any overflow of electrolyte which might be caused during the formation of the battery jar by causing a synthetic resin container lid to have an exhaust tube and installing a thin part having a slit inside the exhaust tube. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic-resin battery jar lid 5 has an exhaust tube 4 for installing a safety valve 3. During the formation of the exhaust tube 4, a thin part 9 is simultaneously formed inside the exhaust tube 4. After that, a cross-form slit 9a is formed in the thin part 9 by performing secondary work, thereby constituting a sealed lead storage battery. Because of the above constitution, it is possible to pour electrolyte by inserting an injection nozzle in such a manner as to expand the slit 9a. During the formation of the battery jar, the slit 9a is closed due to the elasticity of the thin part 9 thereby preventing any splash of electrolyte caused. Accordingly it is possible to prevent any overflow of electrolyte outside the exhaust tube 4. |
