OPTICAL DATA READING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To attain a data reading system with a low cost by reading optically and independently the data on plural concentric recording tracks provided on a data disk. CONSTITUTION:A sensor assembly 14 which can be attached to and detached freely from a spindle shaft 12 has many sensors 16-1-16-n corresponding to the number (n) of tracks. The light and its reflected light pass through light transmission paths 18-1-18-n such as fiber optics. The terminations 20 of the paths 18-1-18-n are set as optically opposed to the recording tracks respectively, and the data on these tracks can be read out in a revolution mode of a disk 10. The assembly 14 makes the terminations 20 engage with the concentric tracks of the disk 10 in terms of position. Thus these terminations 20 are arrayed horizontally in the radius direction of the disk 10 and held by a casing 22. Thus it is possible to combine data on plural tracks into a piece of data. Furthermore these data can be combined selectively and continuously in terms of a series form.
