PURPOSE:To prevent a printing operation from being suspended, by a method wherein information required for printing is accumulated, current operating conditions of a printer are monitored, and the corresponding relationship of the two kinds of information is checked by a calculating means such as a micro-computer. CONSTITUTION:Information on the number of sheet to be printed is fed in together with a printing command from a computer 1, and the information is stored in a calculating part 3. In accordance with an initial setting instruction indicating whether printing papers are newly set or residual printing papers are used as they are, the number of newly set papers or the number of residual papers contained at the preceding time is compared with the number of sheets required which is previously stored, and when the number of papers is smaller than the number of sheets required, an alarm message is indicated on an indicating part 5. Accordingly, both the number of sheets to be printed and the number of papers currently set are indicated, the operator can confirm the indications before starting printing, and by setting the required number of papers, printing can be conducted without being suspended on the midway of the operation. |
