FLUIDITY IMPROVER FOR FUEL

PURPOSE:To provide a fluidity improver for fuel which contains an oil-soluble polar compd. obtained by interaction of a succinic acid deriv. and an active hydrogen compd. and improves fluidity, particularly at a low temp. and long- term stability of wax-contg. petroleum-based fuel. CONSTITUTION:The fluidity improver contains an oil-soluble polar compd. or salt thereof (e.g. hardened beef tallow alcohol ester of maleinized di-tall oil fatty acid ethylene ester) which is a reaction product of an 11-80C full ester of the formula [where R is a 2-24C dihexa-valent hydrocarbon group; X is a 5-30C unsatd. acyl; Y is a 2-30C (unsatds.) acyl; n is a number corresponding to the valency of R] and an alpha,beta-unsatd. dibasic acid (anhydride) and (B) an active hydrogen compd. selected from among an 8-40C aliphatic alcohol and aliphatic amine with an 8-40C aliphatic group. Known fluidity improvers such as active group-contg. oil-soluble ethylenic polymer and alkyl-naphthalene compd. may be used together.
