PURPOSE:To save the use of high cost power source, by a method wherein when separately driven, the time width or pulse voltage of the printing pulse applied to a thermalhead is successively changed according to the variation of power source voltage. CONSTITUTION:A timing control circuit 33 at first connects the first common electrode 25 to the pulse width setter 28 by cycle switching control signal 39 and the split circuit 31 is set to the first split drive d1 state by control signal 38 under this state. The corresponding address information 42 is supplied to ROM 41, the corresponding pulse width information 43 being output to the pulse width setter 28, the corresponding printing pulse 29 being generated and one fourth the picture information set to the shift register 34 is successively recorded by split drive d2... in the same way. Because a pulse width corresponding to the characteristic of power source 44 voltage is written to this ROM41, the variation of power source voltage can be compensated. |
