PURPOSE:To supply a plate surface with uniform dampening water in a proper quantity without using alcohol by previously attaching or emulsifying waterdrops to the surface of an ink layer by a specific hydrophilic layer coating roller on a first inking roller. CONSTITUTION:An ink vibrating roller 4 is brought oppositely into contact with and turned to the circumferential surface of a first inking roller 1, which is brought oppositely into contact with a plate 8 on a plate cylinder 9 and turned at the same peripheral speed as the plate cylinder 9, in the direction of rotation of the roller 1 first, and a hydrophilic layer coating roller 13 in which approximately the whole surface of the surface of the roller is dressed with sand, the whole surface is degreased and a hydrophilic layer by a water-soluble high- molecular compound is formed on the whole surface is brought oppositely into contact and rotated to the first inking roller 1, and lastly either of a water source roller 3 or a quantity adjusting roller 2 is brought oppositely into contact with and turned to the first inking roller 1. Accordingly, the mixing and adhesion of ink and dampening water are promoted extremely efficiently, and uniform dampening water in the optimum quantity can be fed without using alcohol at all. |
