PURPOSE:To make it possible that the work's sliding movement along the shaft's direction can be prevented, by constructing a device as that an opening between a stopper and knockout is closed, while a chuck is rotated, by moving the stopper along the diametral direction. CONSTITUTION:A lathe chuck 13 has a knockout 3, with whose front end surface a work 1 is supported, and a stopper 4, by which the retreat of the said knockout 3 is prevented. This stopper 4 is fitted in a groove 5a of a disk 5, as it can be moved along the disk's 5 diametral direction, by a centrifugal force. Moreover, on one side surface of this stopper 4, which is engaged with the knockout 3, an incline 4a is formed. An opening between the stopper 4 and knockout 3 is closed, and this knockout 3 is pushed, while the chuck 13 is rotated, by moving the stopper 4 along the diametral direction. In this way, the work's 1 sliding movement along the shaft's direction, can be prevented, while the deep cutting or the intermittent cutting is performed. |
