A protector for the threads and contact surfaces of a screw connector at the end of a metal pipe consists of a plastic ring, with complementary threads allowing it to be screwed onto the connector, and an annular shoulder which abuts the edge of one of the contact surfaces in use and is profiled to define an enclosed annular space with it. The pipe with protector fitted is also claimed.
