A control circuit 5 calculates the position data after the correction by adding the correction data (alpha) supplied from a correction-data register 8 into the position data read from a position table 2 each time play-back clock PC is generated, and determines the excitation pattern corresponding to the above-described data, and a motor 7 is driven according to the (+) corrected excitation data, and the tool 13 performs polishing on the locus A+alpha. While, if the (-) correction flag 12c is ON, the tool 13 performs polishing on the locus A-alpha, and the both sides of the locus A can be polished.
