PURPOSE:To prevent misoperation, miscopying, etc., by displaying the setting direction of a form together with its size. CONSTITUTION:The form size is detected by a detecting circuit 43 and information on it is sent to a microcomputer 39, which judges the size among A3-B5 and turns on one corresponding display pattern among P2-P5 on a liquid-crystal display panel 88. When a form having two kinds of setting direction is set in a longitudinal feed state, one of the patterns P2-P5 and a pattern P6 are both turned on and when it is set in a lateral feed direction, one of the patterns P2- P5 is turned on. Then, when a copy is taken by longitudinal feeding except in reduction mode, both patterns are flashed to shows that a copying speed is faster during lateral feeding, and when a copy is taken by lateral feeding in reduction mode, one of patterns is turned off to warn that part of an original can not be copied. |
