PURPOSE:To raise the precision of the work holding action and to perform the precise machine processing, by constructing a device with a collet member, by whose outer circumferential surface, a held work is pierced and the work can be fastened, and with a thrust conveying member which connects a thrust member to a sliding member. CONSTITUTION:In a machine tool, such as a lathe, a fixing member 3 is fixed to a main shaft 2, by a bolt 15. In case a thrust member 5 is advanced/retreated by a cylinder mechanism, a sliding member 8 is advanced/retreated by the action of the thrust member 5. When the sliding member 8 is advanced, a male taper surface 7 of the sliding member 8 and a female taper surface 9 of a collet member 10 are pressed together, the collet member 10 is expanded by the said pressing action, and consequently, a held work W can be fastened by the outer circumferential surface of the collet member 10. When the sliding member 8 is retreated, the pressing action of the male taper surface 7 and a female taper surface 9 is loosened, the size of the collet member 10 is restored, and the held work W can be released. In this way, the precision of the work holding action can be raised, and the precise machine processing can be performed. |
