The present invention relates to a conveyor system comprising a loading system and an unloading system. The loading system is constituted by a horizontal conveyor unit 3 coming from a site for assembling W a load, a vertical conveyor unit onto which the said load is transferred, hoppers for receiving the load, and a loading conveyor for loading the load in a cargo ship 6. The unloading system comprises a vertical bucket conveyor, a horizontal conveyor unit for the unloaded load coming from the conveyor, a second vertical conveyor unit, a second horizontal conveyor unit, and a distributing unit for distributing the load coming from the said second horizontal conveyor unit. The cargo ship 6 is equipped with a conveyor system constituted by three means of conveying, the first one being disposed in a hold, the second being disposed along gunwales of the ship, and the third being intended to alternately transfer the load between the two previous ones. <IMAGE>
