The invention relates to a pan with a handle which is fastened to the pan wall and whose fastening portion extends upwards from the pan wall and is adjoined by a handle part which extends away from the pan wall. The purpose is to avoid unfavourable stress of the wrist or the arm muscles of the operator both in a known pan of this type and in known pans with handle parts projecting at the height of the edge. For these purposes, the handle part is inclined downwards and outwards relative to the horizontal plane. This allows the pan to be gripped with the wrist stretched. Additionally, the lower and upper arm of the operator can assume an angle, by means of which the stress when handling the pan is substantially taken up by the upper arm muscles. These are generally better developed than the lower arm muscles. Depending on the size and weight of the pan, the fastening part can run parallel to the pan wall, turn away from it at an angle, or be bent again in itself.
