The invention is based on pneumatic vehicle tyres with readable marks on the side wall of the tyre. In order to ensure the legibility of these marks even if the tyre has side walls which bulge out to a comparatively large extent, on the basis of the invention the upper edge of the marks faces the smaller diameter of the tyre, the marks being arranged in such a way that they are located on that section of the side walls of the tyre which is facing the bead of the tyre.
