PURPOSE:To attain recording having required density and prevented from the disturbance of a picture and the mixture of colors by using a developer consisting of one component by satisfying the amplitude and frequency of an AC component of a developing bias with prescribed conditions in a developing process. CONSTITUTION:A DC power supply 45 for applying a developing bias is arranged between the sleeve 42 of a magnetic roll 43 and a photosensitive drum 9 to execute inversed development, and an AC power supply 46 is connected in series to the DC power supply 45 to vibrate a developer D in a developing area E and sufficiently supply the developer D to the photosensitive drum 9. In the developing process, 0.2<=VAC/d.f<=1.6 is satisfied when the amplitude of an AC component of the developing bias is VAC, its frequency is f and the gap between the photosensitive drum 9 and the sleeve 42 is d(mm.), so that an image already formed on the photosensitive drum 9 is not disturbed and the succeeding development is executed with proper density. |
