PURPOSE:To make a separator having a relatively low electric resistance and a great rigidity by impregnating a sheet formed by mixing glass fiber with synthetic fiber with a viscous synthetic resin emulsion before the thus obtained body is subjected to drying. CONSTITUTION:After at least 70wt% of glass fiber having a mean fiber diameter of 2-8mu is mixed with 30wt% or less of synthetic fiber, the mixture is formed into a paper-like sheet by a wet or dry method. Next, this sheet is impregnated with a viscous synthetic resin emulsion. The thus prepared sheet homogeneously impregnated with the viscous synthetic resin emulsion is then dried at about 150 deg.C for several min, thereby making a porous separator having a small electric resistance. |
