PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a pattern and to decrease the man-hours for manufacture by compounding a specific ratio of a furan resin and acid or polyester resin and curing agent with lightweight aggregate and forming a block. CONSTITUTION:A furan resin or liquid urea resin is compounded at 20-60pts. with 100pts. granular lightweight aggregate and sulfuric acid or the like as a catalyst is compounded at 1-10pts. therewith and a block 11 is made. Or 5- 10pts. a polyester resin or liquid epoxy and 0.5-1pt. curing agent (methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, etc.) are compounded with 100pts. granular lightweight aggregate (pearlite, etc.) and the block is made. The block 11 is cut to obtain a pattern 12. The pattern 12 is made light by the above-mentioned method and since the pattern has excellent strength and machineability, the formation is simple and the man-hours for the manufacture are decreased. |
