Method for the production of forged groundworking tools provided with at least one forged working edge, in particular groundworking tools for agricultural machines, from a low-alloy forgeable steel alloy. A blank is first of all produced, the blank is heated to a temperature for the forging operation and at least the working edge is forged. This is followed by a hardening step. The blank is heated to a temperature of below 1050 DEG C for the forging operation. The working edge is then forged with a degree of deformation of 20 to 60%, in relation to the cross-section. Hardening is then carried out from this temperature by quenching in oil.
