<p>PURPOSE:To enable transfer work without interruption in a storage device with multiple shelf compartments by arranging direct transfer devices on both sides of single-type storage shelves. In case any one of the transfer devices fails, the transfer work can be switched to the transfer device on the opposite side to carry on the work. CONSTITUTION:Vertically movable transfer devices B1, B2... are respectively arranged in parallel with and both in front of and at the rear of storage shelves A1, A2... so that the transfer work for each shelf compartment can be performed with the device on either side of the shelf. The transfer devices B1, B2... are respectively equipped with trouble sensors E1, E2... so that trouble signals are inputted into a control means D. With this configuration, any transfer device is assigned by command from a command means C to perform the transfer work. In case the assigned device, e.g. B1, fails, trouble signal from the trouble sensor E1 is inputted into the control means D to stop the failed transfer device. At the same time, the command means C assigns and gives command to the transfer device B2 to take over the work. Thus, work can be continued smoothly even in case of trouble in one of the transfer devices.</p> |
