In the case of a vacuum-operated brake booster, the one housing part (34) of the vacuum housing (1) was formed by the splash wall (29) of the vehicle whilst the other half of the housing is part of a plate or dish-shaped wall part (30) of the master cylinder (18), the radially outer section (37) of that wall part (30) arranged on the vacuum housing end of the master cylinder (18) being connected by way of ribs or webs (35, 36) to that end of the master cylinder (18) remote from the vacuum housing (1). The webs (35, 36), the housing of the master cylinder (18) accommodating the pistons (20, 54) and the dish-shaped wall part (30) are designed integrally with one another, the radially outer section (37) of the wall part (30) being bolted to the splash wall (29) by means of bolts (27, 28). The section of the splash wall (29) flanged to a neck part (53) serves for mounting and guiding of the control valve housing (11) which is connected to the movable wall (2) which is arranged between the housing part (34), formed by the splash wall (29), and the wall part (30). <IMAGE>
