The olefin-containing blended yarn according to the invention which has a high fullness value comprises prestated parts by weight of olefin fibres and natural fibres, such as cotton or wool. These fibres are cut and blended with one another, such that a staple is formed in this manner which is then spun and twisted in a known manner to form a blended yarn. In a controlled heat treatment, a yarn having a high fullness value is made from this blended yarn. In the present invention, 60 to 85% by weight of cotton or wool and 40 to 15% by weight of olefin are preferably blended together. In a modified embodiment, 20 to 40% by weight of polyester fibres can replace a corresponding percentage by weight of cotton or wool to bring about in this manner a corresponding cost reduction. The olefin fibres within a fabric which is produced from the blended yarn according to the invention produce an absorbent effect, by virtue of which bodily moisture of the person coming into contact with a fabric of this type is conducted outwards.
