A low-capacity high-pressure pump having a rotor (3) with a smooth planar circular face, which rotor rotates in a pump casing (1) which is provided with a stator face (21), which faces the rotor face with a small clearance. The stator face (21) has the shape of a circular flat-headed rib or web, whose centre is shifted with regard to the rotor centre by a given distance. The circular rib or the circular web is characterised by being halved along a line which passes both through the centre of the circle and the centre of the rotor, and in that its height on the two sides of the bisecting line is different, which provides both a narrow gap (h) and a wide gap (H) between web and rotor face. A fluid inlet (11) is provided in the casing on the outside of the circular rib, as is a fluid outlet (22) on the inside of the rib. Because of the eccentricity of the rotor and of the stator web, due to dragging of the rotor face more fluid is sucked through the wide gap into the space formed by the stator web than can escape through the narrow gap, as a result of which the pressure within the stator space increases and the fluid is driven outwards through the fluid outlet. <IMAGE>
