The invention relates to a main current switching apparatus having a drive and control and/or signalling switches. This main current switching apparatus is allocated, as part of the apparatus, a matching module which, via an auxiliary energy connection, maintains essentially constant the input and output level of the signals for controlling the drive and/or signalling switches in main current switching apparatuses of different design, if necessary contains processing means for network and switching apparatus state data, and keeps the cost for external control low, by means of internal signal processing.
