PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of rust at the edge part of the bright sur face obtd. by machining of an Al member without losing the brightness of the bright surface by forming a thin alumite layer on said edge part. CONSTITUTION:A boss part 1 of an Al wheel A for an automobile as the Al member for ornamentation is expanded diametrally from an outside end face 1a and is connected to a spoke part 3 in a side face 1b part. The outside end face 1a forms the bright surface by machining. The sharp edge part 4 is formed at the boundary between the bright surface 1a and the side face 1b. a clear coated film 7 is formed on the outside end face 1a which is the bright surface. A base coated film 8 and a clear coated film 7 are formed on the other parts. The alumite layer 9 having 0.1-5mu thickness is formed on the edge part 4 and since the alumite layer of the edge part 4 is extremely small in width, the color tone thereof resembles to the color tone of the outside end face 1a. The formation of rust is prevented by the alumite layer 9 even if the clear paint is hardly stickable thereto.
