To facilitate the positioning of the characters to be input by means of a keyboard and later to be printed out on a predetermined form in a text terminal, a form original is scanned by a television camera and imaged during the character input on a display device of the text terminal, for example on a screen. The television camera is synchronised by the arrangement for controlling the display device.
