PURPOSE:To restrain torsion of a valve-side part of a rocker arm which is divided into two parts of said valve-side part and a cam-side part by forking the part of the valve-side part supported by a rocker shaft and inserting the part of the cam-side part support by the rocker shaft, into the forked supported part. CONSTITUTION:A rocker arm 7 which drives exhaust and intake valves relating to an inoperative cylinder to open and close the valves is bisected into a cam- side rocker arm part 12 and a valve-side rocker arm 13 and the arm parts are supported by a rocker shaft 11 as relatively swingable around it. The part of the valve-side rocker arm 13a of the valve-side rocker arm part 13 supported by the shaft 11 has a pair of fork parts 13b and 13c parallel with the line perpendicular to the axes of the rocker shaft 11 while the cam-side rocker arm 12 is supported by the rocker shaft 11 as the supported part 12a thereof is engagedly inserted between the forked ends parts 13b and 13c. The cam face 30 is made to coincide with the cam-side rocker arm part 12 with respect to the axial direction of the rocker shaft 11, thereby restraining torsion of valve-side rocker arm part 13. |
