PURPOSE:To enhance an allowable slip working rate of a coupling device, and as well to reduce the outer diameter of the coupling device, by providing a heat- radiating outer shell plate to a stationary member, by forming a rotary member in a ring-like shape, and by positioning the stationary member in a divided configuration. CONSTITUTION:A ring-like rotary member 23 is formed such that it has a T-like cross-sectioned shape, and it has also magnetic shielding memver 27 in the center section of the T-like cross-sectioned shape. Further, a plurality of actuating member 28 which are coupled together by means of magnetic powder 22 are formed on the outer and inner surfaces of the rotary member 23. Further, a heat-radiating outer shell plate 26 is provided to a stationary member 23 confronting the inner peripheral surface of the rotary member 23, which is formed of divided pieces. With this arrangement, an allowable slip working rate is enhanced, and due to employment of a laterally symmetrical T-like rotary member thermal deformation may be made uniform so that variations in working gap may be made small, thereby stable performance may be sustained. |
