PURPOSE:To surely retract a pair of friction pads upon completion of braking, by providing, in a caliper, a U-like cross-sectioned shape leaf spring which always urges the friction pads in their retracting directions, so that the lead spring is engaged with engaging sections on the rear sides of the friction pads. CONSTITUTION:A leaf spring 23 in a space A has six pawls 24 which are engaged with engaging sections 20 of friction pads 16, and the pressing head 14a of a caliper piston 14 and a pressing member 13a set on a pawl section 13 are abutted against the rear surface of a back plate 18 so that both friction pads 16 are always urged in their retracting directions. Upon completion of braking the caliper piston 14 is retracted under operation of a hydraulic suction valve 30. During this retraction the resilient recovering force of the leaf spring 23 is acted upon both friction pads 16. With this arrangement, the friction pads 16 is retracted, being held in contact with the pressing head 14a, etc. which retracted relative to a disc-plate D. |
