PURPOSE:To permit to obtain a comfortable property and effect energy saving by a method wherein the average temperature of a room and the range of comfortable temperature are compared to control a room temperature. CONSTITUTION:The average temperature of a room, measured by an average room temperature sensor 1, is inputted into a decision circuit 4 through a room temperature inputting unit 2 while the upper limit temperature TH and the lower llmt temperature TL of the range of comfortable temperature, predetermined for summer and winter separately, are inputted from a preset temperature inputting unit 5 into the decision circuit 4. A mode switching unit 6 is provided with changeover contacts S, W to constitute the device so as to be capable of switching the mode in accordance with the seanson of summer or winter, therefore, correct and comfortable control may be effected.
