PURPOSE:To input directly numerical data from a host computer to an NC device of the paper tape reading system by attaching a communication interface to a paper tape reader connecting connector to communicate with the host computer. CONSTITUTION:An NC device 3 and a communication interface 5 are connected through a connector 4 for paper tape reader. Signal communication conditions are set to the same conditions as a paper tape reader 2. Communication between a host computer 6 and the communication interface 5 is performed by a standard interface of the host computer. Signal conversion between them is performed in the communication interface. Thus, numerical data to the NC device 3 can be inputted directly from the host computer 6. This interface is provided to use the NC device of the paper tape system as the DNC system (direct numerical control of the NC device due to the computer is called DNC), and overall control with plural combined NC devices is possibe, and further, NC devices are combined with robots and carrying device to make unattended operation in production of a small quantity of various goods possible.
